If this were Feudal Japan and I, being a loyal follower of the emperor, badmouthed him – even after he made some very questionable decisions – my only option would have been to fall on my sword – 切腹 or 腹切り.
Good thing this is Twenty-09 US of A where football teams honor the 60s by wearing awesome throwbacks. As a loyal follower of the Broncos, I only want what is best for the Mile High Empire. However, my treacherous thinking first began after Pat Bowlen (owner) fired the same person he once called “Coach for Life.” My dissatisfaction with the organization continued when they brought in a young (officially the third youngest coach in NFL history), New England trained (I dislike anything New England except clam chowder) head coach. Before he had a chance to officially coach his first game, he shipped out a QB with a once in a generation arm, brought in an average QB and beefed back and forth with a receiver who has once in a generation abilities (accompanied with the all too common wide receiver ego issues).
And thanks to McDaniels' indiscreetly sniffing out Jay Cutler's trade value, the Broncos became the first team in NFL history to willingly trade an under-26 stud QB, settling for a textbook "three quarters for a dollar" trade over just letting his pouting session run its course. The end result? The Chicago Bears -- the Chicago Bears!!! -- have a talented, cannon-armed quarterback for the first time since 1842.
Weird weird weird. All of it.

After the dismantling and dysfunction with the organization, I hoped them nothing short of a ‘08 Detroit Lions’ type season.
I can say with the greatest of satisfaction: I owe my quarterback, my coach and my owner a most humble apology.
(bowing profusely) 本当にごめんなさい.
I had no faith I my team or the decision making of the front office. About the only thing I predicted correctly was the 6 and the 0, just not in that order. This is probably the reason why the only team I manage is my team from Franchise Mode in Madden.
The only concern I have going into Week 9 was wether or not my Broncos would be facing a defending Super Bowl championship team that was coming off a lost. After watching the Minnesota Viking at the Pittsburgh Steelers I came away with two things:
1) it's going to be a defensive battle.
2) I hope the Steelers don't prove to be the Undefeated Giant Slayers.
Do I think that the Broncos are this 16-0 sleeper? No, I am not so delusional that a 6-0 start automatically means my team will accomplish what has not been done since '72 (Notice I didn't say '07 because to go undefeated and lose in the Super Bowl is a wasted season).
I also know not to lean on my own understanding. As a loyal follower of everything Broncos I lack objective thinking about my team. I will listen the expert from now on.
You have to pick someone from this group: the Bills, Browns, Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs, Lions, Rams, Bengals and Niners… My pick? The Broncos. Nobody believes in them because they lost Shanahan (24-24 since 2006) and Cutler (17-20 career record). Was that REALLY a disaster? They hired the architect of New England's record-setting 2007 offense (McDaniels) and traded for a QB with a 21-12 career record as a starter (Kyle Orton). (I know, I'm pushing it with the facts. But those ARE facts.) They crushed the draft: two first-rounders (including running back Knowshon Moreno, who could light it up right away) and five of the top 64 picks. They play in a division with two awful teams (Kansas City and Oakland). They easily could start 4-0 (at Cincy, home for Cleveland, at Oakland, home for Dallas). And the city of Denver has lost all hope. Also, I want to throw up and you are shaking your head right now. In other words, the Broncos fit the bill. Ten and six, I say.

There is this expectation for the Broncos to go deep into the playoffs after this 6-0 start. However, if they do not, this season’s first trimester has already exceeded expectations.
They ushered in a new era of Broncos football where Philip Rivers cannot run his mouth on the field because he was too busy licking his wounds from being sacked 5 times and McDaniels’ fist pumps after a 20-17 victory showed how much beating his former team meant to his coaching career.
After the struggling Tennessee Titans took a 59-0 beat down in Week 6, I think the NFL should officially rename the New England Patriots to the New England Belichick's Bullies. They could not beat an undefeated team so they took their loss and frustration from Week 5 into Week 6 by piling it on and running up the score on a winless team. Yep, you are a great team now!
- 45 points in 1st half & 35 point in 2nd quarter – a franchise record
- 5 TD passes in 2 quarter - most TD passes for one quarterback in the NFL in a quarter since 1950
- 345 pass yards in 1st half – Tom Brady’s career-high for a half
- 45 point halftime lead – largest lead in NFL since 1950

For some reason I think we have seen this script before:
- 16-0 – first undefeated season in 16-game season era
- 50 TD passes – most TD passes in a season, Tom Brady (breaking Payton Manning’s record of 49)
- 23 TD catches – most TD catches in a season, Randy Moss (breaking Jerry Rice’s - record of 22)
- 589 points – most total team points in a regular season
- 75 TDs – most team TDs in a regular season

I guess the lesson that should be learned here is that when teams set their minds on breaking records, running up the score and embarrassing other teams during to regular season, they just end up like the 31 other teams come February: losers.
